Lotus Flower

Healers United has selected the Lotus flower as its logo for its symbolic representation of the ultimate healing attitude, resiliency, strength and desire for Light.

The Lotus flower is believed to have originated in Egypt. In Egyptian mythology the Lotus flower is a symbol of the sun, of creation and rebirth. This aquatic flower’s healing properties have been foretold since prehistoric time. Pre-historic wall drawings to scripture have spoken to the ancient symbolism of the flower. Egyptians, Greeks, Asians – worldwide the Lotus flower is revered in religious doctrines from Buddhism and Hinduism to Christianity. The pink lotus flower is revered as the supreme deity in the Buddhism tradition representing enlightenment, beauty, grace and purity. The lotus flower represents the process of rising from the depths to the Light, from an unconscious state to consciousness and from sleep to a state of awakening.

The roots of the Lotus flower are planted in the soil at the bottom of a body of water (ponds, water gardens, rivers). Growing majestically out of the murk and mud toward to sunlight the Lotus flower represents the process and the progress of the soul’s ascension. The flower mystically appears having been birthed from the darkness to sit gloriously above the water resting in the sunlight fragrant, pure and clean.

The plant’s stalk is easy to bend and difficult to break representing flexibility and endurance; resiliency. During seasons of drought the flower would disappear to then reappear almost magically. It has been reported that the flower has the ability to regulate its temperate as humans and other warm blooded animals enabling homeostasis furthering its mysterious and mystical power.

The flower is complete to the point of being eatable from root to flower, the roots having great mineral and vitamin properties; nourishing. The flower is used for medicinal and healing properties in traditional Asian Herbal Medicine.

What more appropriate symbol to represent Healers United than the Lotus flower. As we grow in mind, body and spirit toward our ultimate level of knowledge and wellness, while guiding others on their own paths. Growing up toward the sun from the depths of darkness the Lotus flower reminds us of the soul’s perseverance to seek the Light, to achieve healing and cleansing of spirit, body and mind.
